Aramex teams up with WFP for employee-led hunger initiative via ShareTheMeal

Dubai-based logistics provider Aramex has partnered with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to support vulnerable communities and tackle hunger, the companies said in a statement dated 15 October 2026.

According to the release, Aramex launched a global employee engagement initiative on WFP’s ShareTheMeal platform. The programme is designed to give employees a direct way to donate meals through the platform, with participation planned across Aramex teams in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

The company said it would also contribute a corporate donation alongside employee contributions, expanding what the release describes as the overall support generated through the partnership.

Employee challenges and regional participation

The statement said employees were encouraged to participate by scanning a QR code and contributing through one of three dedicated regional challenges: Fight Hunger with Aramex Middle East, Fight Hunger with Aramex Africa, and Fight Hunger with Aramex Asia.

WFP, in turn, said it provides a way for contributions to support people in need, while Aramex provides employees across its global network with an opportunity to take part in the initiative, according to the release.

Recognition at ceremony

Aramex and WFP said the partnership was formally recognised recently at a ceremony that included representatives from both organisations, which the companies said reinforced their shared commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.

Company and WFP remarks

Aramex’s Group Chief Executive Officer Amadou Diallo said in the release that Aramex’s global presence brings responsibility to contribute to nearby communities, adding that the partnership gives employees a direct way to support people in need.

The statement also quotes Diallo describing the initiative as reflecting what he said was the passion seen across Aramex’s regions, and saying the company would add its own corporate contribution to help increase impact.

WFP’s Bashar Al Hammami, Head of UAE Global Office, said the partnership reflects a commitment to saving lives and building resilience, and that private sector partnerships can help drive humanitarian impact at scale, according to the release.

What ShareTheMeal is

The release described ShareTheMeal as WFP’s digital fundraising platform, presenting it as a way for individuals to donate meals to people in need.

WFP, the statement added, does not endorse any product or service.

Background on Aramex and WFP

Aramex said it was founded in 1982 and operates as a listed company on the Dubai Financial Market since 2005. The release also stated that Aramex employs over 16,000 professionals and operates in 600+ cities across 70 countries.

WFP described itself as the United Nations’ largest humanitarian organisation for saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to help build a pathway to peace, stability, and prosperity for people facing the impacts of conflict, disasters, and extreme weather, according to the provided information.
